Born Edinburgh 1977. Lives and works in Dublin, Ireland
Ben has exhibited worldwide and has completed artist residencies in Ireland, France, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, China and Thailand.
His work is held in many public and private collections including the OPW, Mason Hayes & Curran, Petch Osathanugrah, Key Capital Investment and Deutsche Bank.
Solo exhibitions include; Circadian, DLR Lexicon, 2016, Adaptation, Toot Yung Art Centre, Bangkok, 2014 (curator Myrtille Tibayrenc. Diaclasis, Goethe Institut, Dublin, 2012 (curator Mark Garry). Of this Earth, Rua Red, Dublin 2011.
In 2010 he won the Mourlot Prize for contemporary painting in Marseille, France and has been awarded various funding by the Arts Council of Ireland and Culture Ireland.
He is a founder of BLOCK T, a multi-award winning creative organisation based in Dublin. He was the Chairman, Artistic and Marketing Director from April 2010 - Jan 2015 and oversaw all programmation and design work during this period.
He is a full member of the Visual Arts Centre Ltd. and previously held roles as Secretary of the V.A.C. and Director of the Button Factory Studios.
Ben has worked as a Creative Consultant, Designer and Creative Director. In 2013/14 Ben was on the Arts panel as judge and mentor of the Arthur Guinness Projects (a 3 million euro fund for creative projects).
He is currently lecturing part-time in The School of Creative Arts at DIT Grangegorman.
